Faculty members from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC CONAHS) conducted an engaging and hands-on training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bandaging, and wound care for Grade 4 to Grade 6 elementary pupils during Day 2 of Communidad 2026 held on April 28, 2026, at the UC Auditorium.

The activity aimed to equip young learners with essential lifesaving knowledge and basic emergency response skills through interactive demonstrations and guided return demonstrations facilitated by UC CONAHS faculty members. Pupils were introduced to proper techniques in responding to common emergencies such as cuts, bleeding, wounds, and sudden collapse, while learning the importance of safety awareness, preparedness, and responsible action during emergencies.

Through the training, the elementary pupils actively participated in practical demonstrations on CPR, proper bandaging procedures, and wound care management under the guidance of nursing educators. The activity created a fun and educational environment that encouraged confidence, teamwork, and active participation among the children while promoting early awareness on health and emergency preparedness.

The initiative also served as an opportunity for UC CONAHS to extend community health education beyond the university setting by empowering young learners with practical skills that may help save lives within their homes, schools, and communities. Through meaningful outreach activities such as this, UC CONAHS continues to strengthen its commitment to health promotion, quality education, disaster preparedness, and community engagement.
