Enhancing Faculty Readiness for ASEAN Quality Standards in Nursing Education
The University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC-CONAHS) held its regular Faculty Monthly Meeting and a Faculty Development Program (FDP) focused on the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework on November 8, 2025, at the University of the Cordilleras Main Campus, Baguio City.
The morning meeting covered important updates on policies, academic operations, and program matters, while the afternoon session highlighted the College’s dedication to global academic excellence through a comprehensive development seminar on AUN-QA.

Empowering Faculty Through Quality Assurance and Interactive Learning
Dean Judith Odanee G. Magwilang opened the afternoon session with an encouraging message underscoring the importance of aligning UC-CONAHS programs with ASEAN and international standards to maintain excellence in nursing education.
The Faculty Development Program featured Dr. Virgo C. Lopez as the resource speaker, who delivered an engaging discussion on the AUN-QA framework, emphasizing its principles of outcome-based education, stakeholder engagement, and continuous quality improvement.
To enrich the learning experience, Dr. Lopez facilitated a series of interactive games and forums, designed to help participants apply AUN-QA concepts in real-life academic and institutional contexts. With the assistance of Ms. Vanessa Joy P. Gasat, who served as moderator, faculty members collaborated in dynamic group activities that promoted reflection, teamwork, and creative problem-solving related to quality assurance practices.
These interactive sessions sparked lively exchanges of ideas, allowing participants to share best practices in curriculum development, documentation, and program evaluation — all aligned with the College’s commitment to continuous improvement and quality-driven education.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and a photo opportunity, celebrating UC-CONAHS’s commitment to ongoing faculty development and international quality engagement.
Through this Faculty Development Program, UC-CONAHS reaffirmed its readiness to uphold ASEAN-level quality standards and its dedication to fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration in nursing education.
