A faculty member from the University of the Cordilleras – College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC-CONAHS) participated in the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Development in Education, Technology, Agriculture, and Gender and Development, held on March 26–27, 2026 at Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela.
During the parallel paper presentation sessions under the Allied Health track, UC-CONAHS faculty researcher Genevieve M. Dulawan presented the study titled “Challenges Faced by Foreign Nursing Students in the Clinical Setting: A Phenomenological Study.” The research explored the lived experiences of foreign nursing students in clinical environments, highlighting challenges related to cultural adaptation, communication barriers, and clinical learning experiences. Using a phenomenological approach, the study provided insights into how these challenges influence student performance and integration in clinical practice.
The international conference gathered researchers, educators, and professionals from various disciplines, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration aligned with sustainable development goals. The program included plenary sessions, keynote addresses, and parallel presentations across multiple tracks including education, technology, agriculture, and allied health.
The participation of UC-CONAHS in this international academic platform highlights its continued commitment to advancing nursing research, strengthening global engagement, and contributing to inclusive and evidence-based nursing education.
